During their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, students embarked on both a practice and qualifying Adventurous Journey starting at Rachel's Learning Centre near Chivasso. Over the course of two days for the practice and two for the qualifying expedition, EISP students had to navigate across new terrain, set up and carry tents, budget and cook their own food whilst always working as a team.
Despite the new challenges, the new area, and new demands, our students outdid themselves. Not only did they succeed in completing both journeys, they did so whilst communicating clearly with their supervisors and ensuring they were where they needed to be.
It wasn't only the journey. On the rest day, our students took part in archery, horse riding, assault courses, first aid training and reflected on what they had developed as a group.
As their Head of Year, I'd like to congratulate all our students. I look forward to helping them progress in their final iGCSE year and helping those who want to take on the next Duke of Edinburgh challenge: Silver!
