Year 5 went on a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Padova this week and we learnt lots of things.
The lady explained that the DNA has a spiral shape. Everyone’s chains are in different order and that is what makes everybody unique. DNA influences the colour of our eyes, hair etc.
We did an experiment to extract DNA from a banana. At the end of the experiment there was a white layer at the top of the test tube which was the DNA of the banana!
It was a great experiment and trip!
