The big day had arrived: it was time to say goodbye to our Year 5 children. This year the pandemic has dominated so many aspects of school life but it was not going to prevent us from giving the children the celebration they deserved.
The children and teachers prepared a wonderful virtual graduation and although parents were not physically present with the children we know that they were cheering them on from their screens at home or at work. The children sang 'Refuge' arranged by Howard Goodall and some children volunteered to share their wonderful individual musical talents.
We could not be any prouder of the children. They have shown resilience, positivity and a maturity beyond their years. They have been an example to us all, showing us that obstacles may come in our path but they do not block our journey they just take us on a different route. Good luck as you go on to Middle School!
“Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” (Harvey Mackay)
